JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of the Manager of Government and Public Affairs, assists with the development of customer engagement and outreach; serves as a liaison to and/or represents the District at community events and activities; and helps with the coordination and implementation of public awareness and educational programs. Additional duties include:

  • Assists with and/or develops customer engagement and outreach collateral, news releases, media clips, educational initiatives, and related communication materials created and executed by both staff and consultants.
  • Provides contributions to the District website and social media functions.
  • Prepares, researches, compiles, and analyzes data for various reports, including department budget, and special projects.
  • Serves as a liaison for the District at community events and meetings.
  • Conducts informational presentations to community groups.
  • Maintains a variety of records and files to assist with the preparation of correspondence and reports.
  • Must work frequent evenings and weekends, including special events.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

The right person for this role will possess the following credentials:

  • Equivalent to an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • One to two years of experience in the areas of customer service, marketing, and public relations. Experience in a governmental setting is highly desirable.

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Possession of a valid California driver's license is required.
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, certification from District-provided CPR/First Aid training is required.
