The County Executive Office is seeking a seasoned Public Information and Affairs Manager to lead its Communications Team. This position requires a communications professional with strong judgment, leadership skills, and experience in municipal government operations, as well as working with elected officials. The manager will handle internal and external communications, operational standardization, and corporate branding while developing and implementing strategic communication plans for major County initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the Communications team, providing professional development and mentoring.
  • Plan and coordinate public affairs projects, ensuring policies and standards are met.
  • Oversee administrative, budget, procurement, and HR functions for the team/division.
  • Develop and manage public information campaigns and ensure quality execution.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal and external partnerships, updating marketing and branding guides.
  • Create and enhance corporate communication and PIO toolkits on IntraOC.
  • Develop training programs for County website and social media managers.
  • Ensure compliance with County communication policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the Language Access Program and editorial content for the County Connection Newsletter.
  • Provide direction and specific instructions on content to staff.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of public relations experience, with 2 years of team leadership.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business administration, political science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in another language is a plus.
