At Placer County Water Agency, we’re more than just a utility, we’re a close-knit team with deep roots in the community and a passion for public service. we deliver trust, stewardship, and service to the people of Placer County. From the Sierra Nevada mountains to neighborhoods from up in Alta down to Rocklin and beyond, our work touches lives every day, and we’re looking for a creative, curious, and collaborative communicator to help tell that story.

We’re looking for a creative, curious, and collaborative communicator to join our small but mighty communications team. You’ll help shape how we connect with the public through social media, photo and video, design, storytelling, and more. One day you might be in the office designing a newsletter or editing a video; the next, you’re out in the field capturing photos of a water project or interviewing a team member for a feature story. 

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Loves turning complex topics into clear, relatable, and engaging content
  • Has a knack for visual storytelling, from reels to reports
  • Enjoys working independently but thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Is organized, flexible, and always thinking a few steps ahead while staying flexible
  • Has an eye for design, a curiosity for science and history, and a heart for public service
  • Wants to grow, learn, and make this role their own

You’ll work with everyone from customers to engineers to executives, and your work will help shape how the public sees and understands the vital work we do. You'll help plan and support events, campaigns, and internal and external communicaitons. If you’re someone who finds joy in the details, loves to create, isn't afraid to ask questions, finds joy in helping others understand the "why" behind the work, and wants to be part of something lasting — we’d love to meet you.
